Treatment Approach

Our clinical approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy principles and informed by extensive experience in psychological assessment. We believe in using evidence-based treatments, along with ongoing progress monitoring, to ensure that therapy is focused, effective, and tailored to each child’s needs. Our therapeutic style is direct, structured, and skills-focused—and yes, that may include homework assignments! We want therapy to be practical and purposeful, giving children and families concrete strategies they can use in their everyday lives. We’re not interested in keeping families in therapy indefinitely. Our goal is to help you and your child understand what’s getting in the way, develop effective tools for navigating challenges, and experience meaningful, lasting improvement. Ultimately, we want your child to build the confidence and skills they need to successfully “graduate” from therapy.

Making Therapy Engaging

We believe parents and children have far more exciting things to do than spend endless hours in treatment. That’s why we want therapy to be a place where children feel comfortable, engaged, and genuinely enjoy their time with us—expect jokes!

We know that a strong therapeutic relationship is an essential part of creating meaningful change. During our first few sessions, we’ll take time to get to know your child, discover their interests, and learn what makes them feel comfortable and engaged. We then weave those interests into our work together.

When therapy feels engaging, positive, and even fun, children are more motivated to participate, practice new skills, and carry what they learn into their everyday lives. Our goal is to make therapy a place where children feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.

Getting Started

The process begins with a complimentary 15-minute consultation call where we'll discuss your concerns and determine if we're a good fit to work together. During our first in-person session, we conduct a comprehensive intake evaluation to understand your child's unique situation and the challenges that brought you to treatment. We will carefully assess your child's symptoms, discuss any relevant diagnoses, and work collaboratively with you to establish clear treatment goals and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to your family's needs.
